In accordance with the instructions received from our governing authorities, and in response to the public health issues surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, as of March 16th the Université Lumière Lyon 2 will no longer be conducting on-site classroom teaching. We are currently in the process of transferring all of our programmes to use on-line resources, and will conduct all teaching in this way for the foreseeable future.
We would like to reassure you as regards your students, who are currently studying with us. We would also like to inform you about the instructions we have sent to our own students, who are with you.
As things currently stand, there is no restriction to your students remaining with us. We are in constant contact with all of our incoming exchange students, they receive regular updates about the sanitary measures that are implemented and they have unfettered access to the healthcare services of our University, which takes the form of a walk-in clinic. We have explicitly asked colleagues who are setting up new pedagogical measures to take the needs of exchanges students into consideration. We are doing everything we can to keep your students safe and fear-free. In short, your students are our students.
However, if they wish to leave and go home, they will maintain access to all of our resources and to the educational materials we are putting in place. They should simply liaise with their instructors and with the international office, to ensure that we are able to put into place the special exam conditions they will require, when the time comes, on line and safely back home.
We have issued similar instructions to our own students. If they wish to stay with you, we have every confidence that they will be able to complete their semester in line with whatever provisions you yourself are implementing at this time. If they wish to return to France, and if you are doing things on-line, we hope they can pursue their study abroad programme that way. And finally, if they want to come back to France and interrupt their mobility, we will reintegrate them into our own programmes.
In these complicated times, we would like once again to express our confidence in the strength of our partnership and our certainty that you are making every effort possible, as we are, to reassure our students and help them in the coming weeks.
