The city of Lyon has long been renowned for its culinary specialities. Gastronomic pleasures are a part of the city's tradition and way of life, delighting the city's visitors.

The capital of good taste

Cooks of the past have passed on a certain art to today's chefs. The culinary specialities of Lyon are at the heart of the success of the city's grand and smaller restaurants : "Lyonnaise" Salad, Cervelle de Canut, Andouillette Sausages, Quenelle dumplings,  to mention a few.

From the charm of these little « bouchons » through to the refined atmosphere of the grand restaurants and not forgetting the tiveliness of the markets, there is something for every one in Lyon.

The gastronomic tradition of Lyon lives on. The riches of the land in the region are a real bonus : the wines of the Beaujolais, Burgundy, Côte du Rhône the cheeses of saint-marcellin, the poultry of Bresse, the fruits from Lyon's mountains - the list goes on.
