Appel à projets internationaux: JPI Cultural Heritage - Digital Heritage Call

New funding opportunity for transnational proposals:
The Joint Programming Initiative in Cultural Heritage and Global Change is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity for transnational proposals in the area of digital heritage.

The call for proposals will open late April 2017 and the deadline for submission of proposals will be late

June 2017

This Digital Heritage call is designed to generate new, research-based knowledge to promote the sustainable use and management of cultural heritage and so to meet societal challenges and contribute to the development on the society.
The call aims to fund excellent collaborative, transnational, interdisciplinary, innovative R&D projects focused mainly on tangible cultural heritage research, while not excluding the interlinked aspects of intangible and digital heritage.

The research topics on which the Digital Heritage Call is focused have been drawn from areas identified in the Strategic Research Agenda for the Joint Programming Initiative in Cultural Heritage and Global Change (http://www.jpi-culturalheritage.eu/2014/02/strategic-research-agenda-sra/).

Digital Heritage is an important emerging field of inter-disciplinary research in which a wide range of digital methods are applied to the creation, exploration, study, understanding, interpretation and presentation of tangible and intangible heritage, whether digitized or born-digital. It also includes the use of digital methodologies for the conservation and protection of heritage.

The field lends itself to external partnership working with arts, cultural and heritage agencies, and projects might be expected to demonstrate social and/or economic impact. Outcomes might include new methods or the novel application of existing methods to the creation, study, understanding, interpretation, presentation, conservation and protection of tangible and/or intangible heritage.
They might include traditional academic outputs and reports as well as new interactive media and games, online resources, performances and works of art. They should lead to the development of best practices for access policies and strategies, for online presentation (for public and academic audiences) and for curation.

Research proposals on Digital Heritage are not expected to focus on a single topic, but instead are invited to consider approaches combining multiple topics.

The call will support projects across the following topics:
•             Critical Engagements with Digital Heritage
•             Communities and Digital Cultural Heritage
•             Interrogating our Digital Cultural Heritage
•             Interacting with Digital Heritage
•             Safeguarding Digital Heritage in a Transmedia World
