Presentation of the cross discipline UE's accessible during semesters 1 - 4.
The brochure for semester 4 may be downloaded and is also available at the secretariat.
It presents the entire range of cross discipline units available for semester 4 of the Bachelor's degrees.
Open to all students, whatever the subject they are studying, they should not be chosen at random or purely based on the appropriateness of the student's timetables. There aim is to tailor and enhance your course in line with your personal and professional career objectvies. Before making a choice, you must therefore think about how you wish to carry on with your higher education as carefully as when you chose your major topics.
Students in 1st year of their Bachelor's degree
You are only concerned about cross discipline UE's (completed during S4) if you choose Sports or Education, because the courses of these two free UE's are the only ones that start in 1st year.
If that is the case for you, you will have to register in September 2006 and observe the following terms and conditions:
Students in 2nd year of their Bachelor's degree
You must choose your cross discipline UE for semester 4 in September 2006.
How to register
You will be given a form on which you will be asked to specify your choices at the meeting prior to the beginning of the academic year.
You must choose between the cross discipline UE's on the brochure. You must specify the ones you are interested in by order of preference, which will be observed as much as possible depending on compatibility with your timetable or availablity of positions. You must return this form to your secretariat as soon as possible.
Please specify 3 choices of cross discipline UE's, with at least 1 in languages for semester 4.
The relevant cross discipline UE you will attend as well as the timetable and room will be indicated on your semester 4 timetable. You will have access to your timetable on Internet in January with your student ID number, just before the beginning of the second semester.

- Cross discipline UE Sports
Doing sports during at least 2 semesters between semester 1 and semester 4 makes it possible to complete the cross discipline UE of semester 4. Therefore, students who have completed done sports and wish for their marks be taken into account to complete the cross discipline UE of S4 must choose another free UE. They must specify the following on the form: sport completed in S1 and S2 or sport planned for S3 and S4 and to be completed in S4, for those who wish to commence sports during their 2nd year. - Cross discipline UE Education
Students in 1st year who wish to register for this UE must contact the SIMEF. Students in 2nd year who attended education courses in semester 2 in 2004-2005 must specify this course as their sole choice for semester 4, and make it clear that they have already attended.
Students who have not attended this UE in 1st year may specify it as one of their choices; they must specify whether they would rather attend the course in S3 or S4.
Note : Whether the courses are in 1st or 2nd year, any free UE in 2nd year may only be completed in semester 4. - Cross discipline UE Sex and gender, masculine/feminine
This semester 4 cross discipline UE comprises 2 courses to be chosen among 7 available courses. The chosen topics must be specified on the form.
Tip! Specifying several topics relating to Sex and gender does not exempt you from making other choices of cross discipline UE's for semester 4 should the courses be full.
